Pride
The figure
is intentionally painted in a tight, realistic style. This is me when
I try to rely on my own abilities to paint. The artist is trying to
paint the landscape outside his door, but he is too full of himself
to fit through the door. Something like the eye of the needle - a camel
could go through it, but only if it was on its knees. The stick figure
has no worries about how he looks and simply points the way. The irony
is that a good painting most often comes from not caring about how it
turns out.
